Stepping Out Preschool is situated within Holy Innocents Church in South Norwood.

The preschool is based in a large hall which has a safe and happy environment, children have free-flow access to an outdoor garden as well as a wide variety of resources to help develop their skills and imagination as part of the EYFS framework.

At Stepping Out Preschool is a diverse setting and we welcome all families and children within the community of all abilities. The staff have many years of experience working with all kinds of children, including those who have additional needs. We welcome children aged 2-5yrs and accept funding for two and three year olds, offering half or full days to suit parents requirements.

Our Approach to Childcare

We aim to nurture the ‘whole child’ – body, spirit and mind. To this end, our sessions focus as much attention on how children learn as on what they are learning. Children are encouraged to be ambitious and creative, to explore their learning in depth and push themselves to expand in a wide variety of pursuits.

We understand that for children to succeed they need to learn to sustain their individual curiosity and so we embrace innovative approaches to teaching them. We seek to support all individuals to follow their own passions, whatever they may be, and so build their self-esteem and assurance. We want your child to have memorable experiences on their journey to becoming confident, life-long learners and leaders.

At Stepping Out Preschool we embrace and celebrate our diverse community. Our children enjoy learning about different cultures and celebrating significant events such as Diwali, Easter and Black History month.

We combine learning with fun in a safe, clean and comfortable environment where children can be creative as they develop their skills.

Our aim is for children to leave Stepping Out feeling prepared for Reception class, and confident about moving up into their primary school.
